The Select 40 was launched in 2022 by the basketball event provider, Select Events. The new circuit was created in partnership with Premier Basketball and aimed to provide a national-level stage for top-tier club basketball. Its inaugural season featured the top 40 AAU clubs in the country and provided a new, high-visibility platform for female middle school and high school athletes.
